What funeral cover does

You pay a small monthly premium (from around R50) and the policy pays a lump sum when a covered member dies. Many plans cover your whole family on one policy, with no medical tests, and pay out fast.

What to compare

Look at the monthly premium, the payout amount, the waiting period, how many family members are covered, and how quickly claims are paid. The cheapest cover isn’t always the best fit — match the payout to what a dignified funeral actually costs your family.
